THE INNOVATION OF A SILICONE MASK, INFINITELY REUSABLE AND WITH INTERCHANGEABLE FILTERS
Combining Technology and Style, the UNS1 RESPI goggle provides maximum breathability with optimum protection.
The RESPI mask, whose model is registered, was designed by two experts in industrial design in the field of sports, Damien Saumureau and Antoine Harpages. After nearly 6 months of work by enthusiasts, a qualitative market study with future users (retailers, professionals, general public), the life cycle of a mask, then several more months of R&D and work on the design and use of the properties of silicone, the new RESPI ® mask was born.
Silicone material was selected for the production of the RESPI mask for several reasons:
Silicone is a chemically inert material widely used in the health field.
It is morpho-adaptable and perfectly fits the contours of the face for an optimal seal, increasing the user’s protection and avoiding the formation of fog on the glasses
It is of mineral origin since it is synthesized from silicon, a natural element found in sand and quartz. When mixed with other elements such as oxygen, carbon and hydrogen, silicon becomes silicone.
From an ecological point of view, silicone is extremely durable and does not pollute the oceans. Unlike plastic, it does not break down into micro-fragments and is not toxic to aquatic organisms or soil. The life span of silicone is much longer than that of plastic. It withstands extreme temperature fluctuations without melting, cracking or otherwise degrading. Although not biodegradable, silicone can be 100% recycled after a lifetime of use.
The silicone mask can therefore be washed over and over again in the dishwasher or washing machine.
The filters are S76-001 UNS Category 1 certified by the DGA and approved for 20 washes. They provide 94% filtration for particles of 1 and 3 microns, for a protection superior to a surgical mask!
The filters are interchangeable and RESPI will soon offer other types of filters to expand the uses of the mask: PPE (FFP2, FFP3), protection against pollution….
